A WHITE COUCH THAT’S ACTUALLY KID & PET FRIENDLy does exist

YEP - you read that right. A white kid & pet friendly couch has entered the chat, ladies & gents. It’s been over a month now having the Albany Park Barton Sofas, so I think we are due for an update!!

Let’s start out by saying I NEVER thought I’d be able to have a white couch with my family with 2 kids & 2 dogs. We have a doggy door, which is super convenient and necessary for our family, but it also lets in SO MUCH DIRT. Whether it’s the kids running through it before I get a chance to rinse off their feet or the muddy doggy paws, our house is so dang hard to keep clean! Hence, why I never ever thought we could have white couches

ENTER THE BARTON SOFAS

Okay honest feedback? Let’s goooo.

We got the Barton Sofas by Albany Park in the Sand Basketweave fabric last month. They’re every single bit of GORGEOUS. The fabric is to die for - little specks of taupe and beige. And super super soft.

Do they stay clean 24/7? TBH? No. Our dog’s muddy paws constantly get them dirty; HOWEVER - even after the muddiest mess with Georgia clay (IYKYK), I took the cushion covers off, threw them in the wash, and they were good as new. No stains. Literally like nothing ever happened. They are, indeed, spill proof. Liquid literally just beads right off. AND they are extremely easy to spot clean with some Folex (yep - had to do that when my son stamped the couch with a stamp he got from his Easter egg).

Other FAQs

  1. Are the back cushions attached to the frame?

    • NOPE! All cushion covers come off to wash (easy to unzip & super easy to put back on!). This, to me, is what separates the Barton from so many other sofas I’ve looked at. An absolute MUST because even the back cushions get dirty in our house.

  2. Is it actually comfortable?

    • Compared to the Kova sectional, this one is definitely on the firmer side. The Kova was basically one giant cloud, so anything is firm compared to that one, though! Even though it’s on the firmer side, it is still super comfortable - definitely doesn’t feel like cardboard, like other couches I’ve sat on. I do love that it has deep seats and that the seats themselves are super wide, making these sofas super loungeworthy. The couches are bigger than they look (Over 100”!!)

  3. Why did you get rid of your Kova sectional (also by Albany Park)?

    • Okay thissss has to be my FAQ! We absolutely LOVED our Kova sectional. Yes, it had mixed reviews, but that couch was so dang comfortable. And the teddy boucle fabric really hid every single stain. BUT - I really wanted to elevate my living room & to get rid of the sectional feel. The sectional really closed off my space & it just wasn’t super functional for us. The Kova is also MASSIVE (over 120”) so a massive sectional right smack dab in the middle of my living room made it hard to plan out the rest of the space & also just took up a decent chunk of our living room. This layout with 2 couches is just so much more functional & looks so high end. BUT if you’re in the market for a comfy, cloud couch dupe, the Kova is DEFINITELY the way to go.

  4. What are the measurements/what are the cushions made out of?

    • You can find all of the specs of the Barton sofa here

To be transparent - both the Kova sectional and the Barton sofas were gifted; however I have absolutely zero obligation to create a post like this/all other collaboration requirements were fulfilled last month. I truly just love them so much & wanted to have a permanent post here in case anyone has been on the fence about purchasing them. If you’re in the market for a white couch, I really do highly recommend the Barton sofas.

Have questions? I’m an open boookkkk! Feel free to DM me on IG & I’ll be happy to answer whatever!
